Electoral Reform Services residents' survey
To find out residents' views on the proposed regeneration of Wornington Green, we commissioned Electoral Reform Services (ERS) to conduct a Market Research Society accredited survey.
The survey took place over two weeks in September / October 2008. Every household was contacted and a total of 252 household representatives were surveyed out of approximately 538 on Wornington Green.

Residents' support for regeneration
Q7. I have concerns about the redevelopment of the estate, but overall I think it is for the best.
69% of residents surveyed support the proposed regeneration of Wornington Green.
16% disagree with the redevelopment of the estate, while 15% are undecided.
Phasing and timing of proposed regeneration
Q8a. I don't mind what parts are done first just as long as it gets finished as soon as possible.
74% of residents surveyed agree that the regeneration should happen as quickly as possible, regardless of which areas are built on first.
12% disagree with this statement.
Q8b. It is important that as many people as possible can move straight into their homes in one go.
An easy rehousing process is important to residents on Wornington Green. 75% of residents surveyed agree that this process should take place as soon as possible.
Q8c.The park space should be kept during the construction period even if this means the project takes longer.
44% of residents surveyed agree with the statement and 27% disagree.
Use of Athlone Gardens
Q4. 49% of respondents occasionally, never or rarely use Athlone Gardens, while 47% use the area on a weekly or more regualr basis.
Q5. 39% surveyed mainly use the park as a walkway across the estate, with 35% mainly using the park for recreation and 47% as a children's play area.
Q8c. A sense of community and communal facilities appear to be central ideals for residents on Wornington Green.
44% of respondents agree that KHT / Catalyst should try and preserve this open space throughout the regeneration process.
Residents likes and dislikes on Wornington Green
Q1. 47% of residents surveyed stated that the sense of community and the nearby shops were the aspects they like most about living on Wornington Green.
Q2. 40% of residents surveyed said that the level of crime and lack of safety and security were the things they most disliked about living on Wornington Green.
